These creatures are not always monstrous, but they are certainly unnatural. There are two very broad categories for magical creatures: Dark and Light

Creatures of Light: These are usually wondrous and benevolent creatures such as Unicorns, The Pheonix and the Green Man. They are known for protecting forests, animals or even humans.

Creatures of Darkness: These are fowl monsters and wielders of terrible magic. They will always use their powers for the cause of evil. They include Hags, the Cockatrice, The Jinn, and the Grendel to name a few.
